Update 2/20 - Devlog


I've made a few changes to the game this week:

Introducing a new character, Cyclops! I've reworked Robot's moveset into Cyclops and removed Robot from the game. The replacement comes as a result of wanting to push more of the artworks come to life concept of the game. Cyclops also kinda fits better as the grappler character.

I've also added the Cyclops stage, which is still a work in progress.

I've also encountered some challenges along the way. I'm having difficulty matching the animation of the command throw for each character. While I've been experimenting with root motion and matching every frame of the throw confirm to the throw reaction, it's not lining up well. I've left it as is for now since the move itself works, but I'll continue to work on this until I can figure out how to make it look better.

The next items on my to-do list is to:

-Add the story component of the Arcade mode, with Cyclops as the opponent. I plan to include some playful banter between the characters before and after the battle, based on the art pieces. The overall tone will be cute and comical.

-Begin work on a new character and a stage to go along.

-Add more depth to the battles. I'm working on using the cinematic options more effectively, with the aim of eventually being able to include a super or desperation move that will add more drama to the fights.
